NKP Pharma partners with Rockwell Automation to improve regulatory compliance, data accessibility

Industrial automation and digital transformation technologies company Rockwell Automation has partnered with NKP Pharma, a Gujarat-based manufacturer of pharmaceutical packaging machinery, to implement a new visualisation solution aimed at improving regulatory compliance and data accessibility.
The collaboration has helped NKP Pharma meet the requirements of USFDA 21 CFR Part 11 regulations from the Food and Drug Administration body, which govern the use of electronic records and signatures in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Previously, NKP Pharma faced difficulties in complying with the strict regulations due to reliance on costly IPC-SCADA systems, which also limited customers’ access to operational data. The PC-SCADA systems combine Industrial PCs (IPCs) with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) software. In response to this challenge, the company adopted Rockwell Automation’s FactoryTalk Optix, a new human-machine interface platform designed to enhance real-time data access and support compliance.

Alpesh Mistry, Vice President of Operations at NKP Pharma, said that the implementation of the new system provided a cost-effective solution that fulfilled regulatory requirements without the high expenses usually associated with traditional systems.
Dilip Sawhney, Managing Director of Rockwell Automation India, welcomed the collaboration and praised NKP Pharma’s progress in achieving regulatory standards. He noted that advanced visualisation and real-time data accessibility not only help businesses meet compliance needs but also improve operational efficiency and lower costs.
The FactoryTalk Optix platform offers user-level access control, audit trails and electronic records to help manufacturers meet regulatory demands. It also allows customers better access to real-time data, helping improve decision-making and machine performance, while keeping operational costs manageable.
