UiPath launches AI tool with Google Cloud to summarise medical records

UiPath, an enterprise automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) software company, has introduced a new AI-based tool developed in collaboration with Google Cloud to automate the summarisation of medical records. Announced at Google Cloud Next 2025, the UiPath Medical Record Summarisation agent is currently in private preview and is built using Google Cloud’s Vertex AI and Gemini models.
The tool is designed to assist both healthcare payers and providers in processing large volumes of unstructured medical data more efficiently. It generates structured summaries of patient records using generative AI, reducing the time typically required for manual data review, the company said.
Developed with input from clinical professionals, the AI agent is built using UiPath Agent Builder and delivers clinician-level summaries. A process that usually takes around 45 minutes can now be completed in minutes, according to UiPath. The summaries are presented in a standardised format with traceable data, supporting faster and more informed clinical decisions.

The agent is intended to reduce the workload associated with administrative tasks such as patient referral intake, order processing, and utilisation management. The company reports that early users have seen a reduction of up to 40 minutes per patient referral and a 50% decrease in prior authorisation turnaround time.
The tool also uses retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to process unstructured medical data into structured summaries.
Mark Geene, senior vice president of AI Products at UiPath, said, “By automating and streamlining summary creation with Google Cloud, UiPath enables healthcare organisations to save clinical review time and improve accuracy, generating significant annual value in time savings and cost avoidance.”
