Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation (DFPCL), one of India’s leading manufacturers of fertilisers and industrial chemicals, has partnered with American cloud-based data storage company, Snowflake to accelerate its digital transformation journey by adopting the vendor’s AI Data Cloud for Manufacturing.

According to DFPCL, to support its expanding operations and future AI/ML initiatives, the Pune-headquartered firm is leveraging Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud for Manufacturing to unify real-time analytics, streamline complex workloads, and securely collaborate with its ecosystem, driving agility and visibility across its value chain.

Snowflake's decoupled storage and compute architecture allows DFPCL to optimise cloud costs with a pay-as-you-go model, ensuring scalable and cost-effective data management with reduced maintenance. Furthermore, access to open-source datasets like weather and agri data via Snowflake Marketplace will improve business intelligence, particularly for the fertiliser business. Snowflake's data governance features, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Time Travel (enabling data retrieval for up to 90 days) further ensure strong data protection, meeting DFPCL's security requirements.

“At Deepak Fertilisers, digital transformation is central to our business operations. We believe data is key to driving customer value, efficiency, innovation, and growth. Moving from traditional Data Warehouses to Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud for Manufacturing will enhance our decision-making and help us ensure business agility,” Deepak Kamat, Vice President of IT at DFPCL, said.

DFPCL is also exploring generative AI solutions within Snowflake’s platform. A key initiative involves developing an AI-powered chatbot capable of processing natural language queries. This tool will analyse historical Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to uncover actionable insights, aiding manufacturing and finance operations.

“Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud for Manufacturing provides DFPCL, operating in a traditionally data-intensive sector, with a scalable, secure, and cost-efficient platform to unify its data and drive business value,” said Vijayant Rai, Managing Director- India, Snowflake said in a statement.
“In industries like fertilisers and chemicals, where precise operational control and rapid innovation are critical, breaking down data silos and enabling real-time insights empowers DFPCL to enhance operational efficiency, optimise resource utilisation, and accelerate AI-driven innovation—setting new benchmarks for the industry,” he added.
