
Western Union partners with HCLTech to implement AI-powered platform


Western Union has partnered with HCLTech to enhance its technology infrastructure using artificial intelligence (AI). The collaboration aims to transition Western Union to a platform-based operating model and strengthen its digital capabilities.
HCLTech will become Western Union’s largest technology partner, providing AI-driven solutions such as FENIXAI and AI Force to improve efficiency, scale operations, and enhance decision-making through data-driven insights.
The partnership focuses on several key areas. Western Union will shift to a platform-centric model using HCLTech’s AI-powered solutions to improve agility and scalability. HCLTech will also support the company in strengthening its digital and cloud capabilities, improving infrastructure resilience, and enabling seamless customer experiences.

Additionally, HCLTech’s expertise in digital engineering will help Western Union implement automation, enhance system monitoring, and optimize operations.
As part of the collaboration, Western Union will establish a technology center in Hyderabad, India, in partnership with HCLTech. The center will focus on innovation and expanding the company’s global technology footprint.
