Palo Alto Networks has announced an expansion of its cloud infrastructure in the Asia-Pacific and Japan region. The cybersecurity company is investing in new cloud locations across Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, and Singapore to enhance security services for local and regional customers.

The investment integrates Prisma Access Browser into existing infrastructure, helping organisations comply with local data residency requirements while maintaining security. The initiative aims to address increasing cybersecurity threats, such as phishing, account takeover attacks, and malware infections. These threats are further exacerbated by the growing use of software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications, generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, and unmanaged workplace devices.

Anupam Upadhyaya, Vice President Product for Prisma SASE, Palo Alto Networks, said, "With our new cloud locations in the region, we're bringing secure connectivity to these workplace devices, managed and unmanaged, helping ensure critical information stays protected while enabling organisations to improve their overall security posture in the face of modern cyber threats."

"Organisations across the Asia-Pacific and Japan region are increasingly moving their workloads to the cloud. Expanding our cloud security presence to Asia-Pacific and Japan is part of our ongoing commitment to provide customers with localised access to best-in-class cybersecurity offerings that help meet their data residency needs," said Simon Green, President, Asia-Pacific and Japan, Palo Alto Networks.

The expanded cloud services are part of Palo Alto Networks’ ongoing effort to strengthen its security offerings in the region. By providing locally hosted security solutions, the company aims to help customers detect and mitigate cyber threats while ensuring compliance with regional data regulations, it said.
