Commvault appoints industry veteran Ha Hoang as CIO

Commvault, a software company that specializes in data protection and management, named Ha Hoang as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO), bringing in a technology leader with over 25 years of experience in enterprise technology transformation. She has worked with several Fortune 500 companies and has extensive expertise in cloud strategy, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) optimisation, and global infrastructure operations.

In her new role, Hoang will focus on advancing cloud, security, and artificial intelligence (AI) technology initiatives at Commvault. She will also collaborate closely with the company’s engineering and product teams to drive innovation while engaging directly with customers to demonstrate how Commvault’s technology enhances resilience and delivers business value.

Before joining Commvault, Hoang was Group Vice President of Cloud Engineering and Infrastructure at UKG, where she led global cloud transformation projects. She has also held senior leadership roles at McKinsey & Company and Wipro, where she played a key role in developing technology strategies that supported business growth.

Hoang holds a degree from California State University, East Bay.

Commvault has been betting big on India in recent years. In November 2024, Commvault launched a new facility in Coimbatore which serves as an R&D centre. The centre complements its existing operations in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune and strengthens the company’s overall presence in India.
