Wipro GE Healthcare, a global provider of healthcare technologies, has launched the Versana Premier R3, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered ultrasound system developed and manufactured in India. The system is designed to enhance diagnostic accuracy, streamline clinical workflows, and improve imaging efficiency.

The Versana Premier R3 is an extension of the Versana ultrasound range and integrates AI to support healthcare professionals. AI-enabled automation tools assist with workflow optimisation, tissue imaging, and volume calculations. The system also includes a self-learning onboarding tool to help clinicians adapt to new workflows and improve their skills. It will be produced at Wipro GE Healthcare’s manufacturing facility in Bengaluru under the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

The system’s ‘VisionBoost architecture’ and 8-million-channel digital processing technology enhance image quality. With compatibility for 23 different probes, the ultrasound system enables dynamic organ scanning, allowing clinicians to perform diverse diagnostic applications. AI-driven imaging features improve precision in detecting abnormalities and assist in faster decision-making.

The introduction of the Versana Premier R3 comes as the demand for advanced diagnostic tools continues to grow, especially for addressing the increasing burden of non-communicable diseases in India. AI integration in ultrasound technology is expected to improve accessibility and efficiency in medical imaging, the company said.

Chaitanya Sarawate, Managing Director, Wipro GE Healthcare South Asia said, “At Wipro GE Healthcare we continue to make advancements in AI, investing in foundation models that can help enhance precision care, ease clinical workflows and enable better patient outcomes.”

Anup Kumar, Business Head, Ultrasound, Wipro GE Healthcare added, “With the growing NCD burden in the country, there is a pressing need for advanced patient centric technologies that can provide faster, personalised, and more accurate diagnosis.”
