SaaS-based conversational messaging platform Gupshup on Thursday announced the launch of its AI Agent Library, featuring 15 customisable, pre-built AI agents. These agents are designed for enterprises specifically in the financial services sector to enhance customer engagement and boost revenue growth by streamlining lead acquisition, integrating with various channels, and ensuring compliance. It will enable fintech companies to market faster with minimal setup.

Built on the Gupshup Conversation Cloud, the AI agents utilise LLMs for rich customer interactions and seamlessly integrate with backend systems, allowing rapid deployment across various messaging channels, including WhatsApp, SMS, Voice, Web, and Mobile. “These are customisable, offering personalised, omnichannel customer engagement while ensuring regulatory compliance with clear loan information,” the company said in a statement.

Businesses can create personalized interactions as the agents track conversation history through integration with common data platforms. Trust and safety measures ensure that the AI maintains its designated role and brand integrity, it added.

"Conversational AI Agents are fundamentally transforming how businesses connect with customers. As a tech-first leader in the conversational messaging industry, Gupshup is uniquely positioned to deliver these next-gen AI Agents, optimized for significant business impact, rapid deployment, and high ROI," said Beerud Sheth, Founder & CEO of Gupshup.

Founded in 2004 by Sheth as an SMS network in India, Gupshup has evolved into a $1.4 billion company backed by Tiger Global, Fidelity, and other prominent investors. The company has expanded its presence beyond India to the US, Europe, and the Middle East. In the UAE, where Gupshup has operated for two years, the GCC region has become its third-largest market globally. In Dubai, Gupshup serves leading regional brands such as Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), Emaar, Talabat, and others. Globally, Gupshup claims to support over 45,000 customers and facilitate more than 120 billion messages annually in over 100 languages.

Meanwhile, OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman said on Thursday that his company is rolling out AI agents capable of performing many jobs currently done by junior engineers across organisations. The announcement has significant implications for India and the Indian IT services sector, which hires thousands of engineers every year, believe experts.

In October, a Gartner study predicted that by 2028, 33% of enterprise software applications will incorporate agentic AI, a substantial increase from less than 1% in 2024. This shift will allow organisations to automate various tasks and workflows, thereby improving overall efficiency.
