Jio Platforms onboards US-based Confluent for data streaming services

U.S.-headquartered data streaming platform Confluent will now be available on Jio Cloud Services to deliver real-time data to businesses in India. Under the strategic agreement signed between the two firms, Confluent Platform will be offered as a managed service for India’s consumers and enterprises. It will make enterprise-grade security and governance available to these organisations to ensure trusted, secure data at extremely large scales.
In its 2024 Data Streaming Report published in July, Confluent said that 94% of IT leaders in India say data streaming platforms bring new products to market faster, and 95% believe they can lead to more innovation in AI development.
“Confluent with Jio will enable more organizations in India to harness the power of data streaming to fuel their businesses with real-time data and provide better services to its citizens,” said Erica Schultz, President of Field Operations, at Confluent.
“Partnering with one of India’s most influential and innovative companies is a huge leap forward for making data streaming easily accessible and pervasive. We look forward to partnering with Jio to help organizations advance their digital capabilities with streams of constantly flowing data,” she added.
The need for real-time data has cemented data streaming as a critical business requirement. According to a report by ISG Software Research, by 2026, more than three-quarters of enterprises’ standard information architectures will include streaming data and event processing.
Last year in September, the data streaming firm announced the launch of its Confluent OEM Program for managed service providers (MSPs), cloud service providers (CSPs), and independent software vendors (ISVs) to help them integrate its data streaming platform into their customer offerings.
Indian IT companies including Infosys and Mindgate Solutions joined as Confluent's partners to help businesses bring real-time products and Kafka offerings to market faster and easily monetise customer demand for data streaming worldwide, the company said in a statement.
