Sasken launches development center in Ahmedabad

Engineering and digital transformation firm Sasken Technologies has inaugurated Sasken Silicon’s (Formerly Anups Silicon Services) regional office and offshore development center (ODC) in Ahmedabad.
To be sure, in March 2024, Sasken acquired a 60% stake in Anups Silicon Services Private Limited (ASSPL). The acquisition was made through a private placement basis, with Sasken investing ₹33.2 crore in ASSPL.
The Ahmedabad center is expected to drive growth and innovation in the Silicon design market. It is spread across 14,000 sq. ft. and comprises a seating capacity of 150 employees, an ODC center, a Testing & Development Lab, alongwith a training center.

“By establishing our footprint in this strategic market, we aim to enhance our capabilities in silicon design by continuously upskilling and training our engineers at the regional training center. This will enable us to optimise our value chain to serve our global customer base. I am confident that this facility will drive operational excellence, leverage regional talent, and accelerate our growth trajectory in the semiconductor domain,” said Rajiv C. Mody, CMD & CEO of Sasken Technologies.
Sasken is advancing its capabilities in the semiconductor design and development area. Apart from ASSPL, last year the company also announced the acquisition of Hong Kong-headquartered Borqs Technologies' original design manufacturing (ODM) and software services business. Borqs is a global provider of embedded software and products for the Internet of Things (IoT). The deal is valued at $40 million, inclusive of earn-outs, management incentives, and other payouts; the transaction is expected to be completed by end of 2024.
With this acquisition, Sasken is adding designing and development capabilities, including ideation, IP development, software and product realisation, and hardware supply chain management.
