AI drove 30% of bookings in H1: Oracle India exec
Cloud service provider Oracle’s AI initiatives in the last few years have started to deliver rich dividends, company executives said at a recent media roundtable in Mumbai. In H1, the AI wins contributed about 30% of the bookings for Oracle India.
“From an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) standpoint, 30% of our revenues were all driven by AI based customers or AI services that we had acquired,” said Premalakshmi PR , vice president, Technology Cloud, Oracle India, on the sidelines of Oracle CloudWorld Tour Mumbai.
The company has over 100 AI uses cases which have been already introduced in their products. Oracle’s embedded AI capabilities have offered a major competitive advantage and has driven customer adoption, the spokesperson said. Oracle’s AI strategy spans across its infrastructure layer, platform services, databases, and business applications.
On the applications side, Oracle has integrated 50 generative AI agents in its Fusion Cloud SaaS applications. These agents help in automating end-to-end business processes. In partnership with NVIDIA, Oracle also offers more than a lakh GPUs which helps enterprises to train and deploy AI models.
Further, the banking and financial services (BFSI) continues to be Oracle driver. Within in BFSI, Oracle is also adding several non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) in its clientele. Shailesh Singla, vice president, Cloud Applications, Oracle India, said that every month, the company is adding one or two NBFCs. Beyond BFSI, other industries where Oracle is driving major focus include public sector, manufacturing, professional services / IT and ITeS, and healthcare.
Oracle’s infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, and database services grew by more than 50% year on year. In the last six months the acquired at least 65 plus new logos, the spokesperson said.
