The week of January 25-31 saw several CXO movements in the tech industry. Technology companies such as Ericsson, Epsilon, Encora and Zoho Corp, among others, made new business appointments, while non-tech firms like H.G. Infra Engineering Limited and Tata Projects appointed new leaders to helm their IT and digital affairs. Here’s the roundup:

Epsilon appoints new Managing Director for India GCC

Epsilon, a data and technology firm, has appointed Pratik Nath as the Managing Director of its Global Capabilities Centre in India. Epsilon aims to improve its client solutions worldwide under Nath's leadership. He brings over 25 years of rich experience in technology, with a focus on engineering and innovation. Before joining Epsilon, Nath served as Vice President of India IP Development at Oracle Cerner, where he played a key role in shaping the strategy and execution for a product and platform development team of over 2,000 members. Nath holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the National Institute of Technology, Surat, and a Diploma in Advanced Computing from the Advanced Computing Training School in Bangalore. Ericsson appoints Head of Enterprise for Southeast Asia and India

Ericsson has appointed Enrique Garcia as Head of Mission Critical Networks and Enterprise for Southeast Asia, Oceania, and India, effective March 1. Based in Singapore, he will focus on strengthening Ericsson's position in mission-critical networks and expanding enterprise opportunities in the region. Garcia, who has over 15 years of experience in telecommunications, previously led operations with MasOrange in Spain, contributing to the launch of Europe’s first open and programmable network and establishing enterprise partnerships in transportation. He holds degrees in Business Administration from the London School of Economics, a Master’s in Product-Service Systems from Cranfield University, and a degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche. Zoho's Vembu transitions to Chief Scientist Role; Steps down as CEO

Sridhar Vembu, the founder and CEO of Chennai-based Zoho Corporation, announced his resignation as CEO to take on the role of Chief Scientist within the company. Co-founders Shailesh Kumar Davey and Tony Thomas will now serve as group CEO and Zoho US lead, respectively. Additionally, Rajesh Ganesan will oversee the ManageEngine division, while Mani Vembu will manage the Zoho.com division. In a post on "X," Vembu explained that his decision was influenced by recent technological advancements, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI). As Chief Scientist, he will focus on research and development initiatives as well as his commitment to rural development. (Read more)

Encora appoints Rishabh Khemka as CFO

Digital engineering services company Encora announced the appointment of Rishabh Khemka, a former Wipro veteran as its Chief Financial Officer. With over 18 years of leadership experience at Wipro, Khemka has scaled and built digital and IT services businesses globally. In his last role, Khemka served as the CFO for the Americas business at Wipro, managing the finance organisation for a $3.3 billion portfolio that included next-generation digital services across industry verticals. Khemka also served as the CFO for Wipro Ventures, the company's venture capital arm.  

Yashpal Soni Appointed as CIO at HGIEL

Yashpal Soni has been named the Chief Information Officer at HGIEL. In his prior role, he was the CIO/CISO at Digital India Corporation, where he was instrumental in driving digital transformation, implementing ERP systems, and enhancing cybersecurity measures. Soni possesses a robust background in aligning information technology strategies with business goals and has held significant leadership roles at Intex Technologies, Dalmia Cement (Bharat), and Everest Industries, where he fostered innovation through the application of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and cloud computing.

Vaibhav Palan joins tata projects as Chief Digital & Information Officer

Vaibhav Palan has taken on the role of Chief Digital & Information Officer at Tata Projects. Before this appointment, he was the Head of Digital & Core Technologies for the APAC region and Vice President at Holcim, where he was responsible for the creation and implementation of the Digital Hub Roadmap, led cloud migration efforts, and promoted the integration of advanced technologies including robotic process automation, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. With over twenty years of experience, Palan has held prominent positions at Piramal Enterprises, Cox & Kings, and Mercator Solutions, showcasing his proficiency in digital transformation, IT strategy, and innovation.
