Bartronics India Limited, a provider of fintech and technology solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Singapore-based PTW Group to advance India's semiconductor industry.  

The agreement was finalised in Hyderabad after discussions with Telangana's Minister of Information and Technology. The collaboration aligns with India's plans to become a global hub for semiconductor innovation and manufacturing. 

The partnership aims to establish facilities in India for production, equipment refurbishing, and workforce training to address the rising demand in the semiconductor sector. This initiative will focus on research and development, manufacturing, skill development, and fostering international partnerships to strengthen India's position in the global semiconductor ecosystem.

PTW Group, which operates in 14 countries, specialises in refurbishing semiconductor equipment and is an approved vendor for over 700 fabs worldwide, including major players such as TSMC, UMC, Samsung, and Texas Instruments. The company’s expertise in refurbishing and supplying power semiconductor equipment aligns with India’s goals to liberalise its semiconductor market and develop domestic capabilities. 

Speaking about the MoU, Torsten Seifried, Managing Director of PTW Group said, “With the Bartronics collaboration. we aim to quickly gain local knowledge of the Indian market and address the immediate potential to help with emerging fabs in India. In the long-term we aim to establish India as a key development, production and refurbishment center for our global operations.” 

N Vidhya Sagar Reddy, Managing Director added, “We are looking forward to working with PTW group to drive growth and innovations in the semiconductor industry. The proposed merger will bring advanced semiconductor technologies to India, creating new opportunities for local manufacturing, training, and R&D which will bolster India's position in the global semicon landscape.”
