Engineering and digital services firm Tata Technologies has joined hands with automotive semiconductor solutions provider Telechips to develop software solutions for next-generation software-defined vehicles (SDVs). The announcement was made at CES 2025.

The collaboration will focus on creating solutions for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), automotive cockpit domain controllers, and central and zonal gateway controllers. These technologies are critical for advancing SDVs, which are central to the future of connected, autonomous, and electric vehicles.

Tata Technologies brings its expertise in automotive software engineering and SDV development. Telechips contributes with its semiconductor technologies, including System on Chips (SoCs), AI Vision ADAS Processors, and Network Gateway Processors. Together, the companies aim to address challenges faced by automotive manufacturers, such as software-hardware integration, faster development timelines, and improved vehicle safety and connectivity.

The partnership will also focus on developing a scalable software framework for ADAS and autonomous vehicle platforms. Artificial Intelligence (AI) will play a key role in enhancing decision-making and situational awareness. Telechips' SoCs will support faster vehicle communication and align with sustainability goals by promoting greener transportation solutions.

This initiative follows Tata Technologies’ July 2024 partnership with Arm to accelerate SDV development. That collaboration combined Tata’s automotive expertise with Arm’s power-efficient technologies to reduce the time required to develop SDVs.

“Combining Telechips’ advanced semiconductor technology with our deep domain knowledge and expertise in turnkey SDV development to help our customers develop competitive software-defined vehicles,” said Warren Harris, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Technologies.
