Spotlight: CXO movement this week (Dec 28-Jan 3)

The week of Dec 28-Jan 3, saw a handful of CXO movements in the tech industry with Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) announcing a new CEO. Other firms like Adda247 and Ashirvad by Aliaxis appointed new leaders to helm their digital affairs. Movement also happened at Electric Vehicle maker Ola Electric. Here’s the roundup:

Bhuvnesh Kumar takes charge as UIDAI CEO

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has appointed Bhuvnesh Kumar as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Kumar, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 1995 batch of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, also serves as Additional Secretary at MeitY. The UIDAI, a statutory authority under MeitY, is responsible for issuing Aadhaar, a 12-digit unique identification number linked to an individual’s biometric and demographic data. Kumar has previously served as Principal Secretary for Uttar Pradesh's Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, and Fisheries, as well as Secretary in departments such as Finance, MSME, and Technical Education. A gold medallist from the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, Kumar also held the position of Joint Secretary at MeitY and is widely recognised for his administrative expertise and strategic leadership.

Anshuman Misra joins as Group CPTO at Adda247

Anshuman Misra has joined the vernacular learning platform Adda247 as its Group Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO). Before this, he served as Chief Product and Technology Officer at fintech company MobiKwik. With over two decades of experience, Anshuman has held key leadership roles at organizations such as Hike Messenger, Spice Digital, and IBM. He brings extensive expertise in product management, engineering leadership, and strategic growth, making him a valuable addition to Adda247’s mission of building advanced learning experiences for the masses. Misra is an alumnus of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University where he pursued his Bachelor's in IT.

Vipin Rustagi appointed as CIO at Ashirvad by Aliaxis

Vipin Rustagi has joined Ashirvad by Aliaxis as Chief Information Officer. Before this, he was Vice President and Group Head – IT & Digital at Haldiram Snacks Pvt. Ltd., where he led IT strategy, digital transformation, and technology integration. He has nearly 20 years of experience also held leadership roles at Duroflex, Page Industries Ltd, Marico Limited, Asian Paints, Wipro, and Cognizant, bringing extensive expertise in IT governance, digital transformation, enterprise systems, and strategic leadership.  He holds a BE degree from Delhi College of Engineering and a PGDIM, in Operations from the National Institute of Industrial Engineering and an engineering degree from Delhi College of Engineering.

Ola Electric CTO steps down

Electric Vehicle maker Ola Electric’s Chief Technology and Product Officer (CTO), Suvonil Chatterjee, stepped down from his role last week. Chatterjee, who joined Ola in September 2017, played a pivotal role in the company’s technological and design advancements. During his nearly decade-long career, he also held key positions at prominent companies such as Flipkart, Unacademy, and Housing.com. Starting as Ola’s Head of Design, Chatterjee was promoted to Chief Technology and Product Officer in 2021. Anshul Khandelwal, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), joined Ola in 2019 following the company’s acquisition of Foodpanda, where he served as Head of Marketing. He later took charge as Head of Marketing at Ola Foods before ascending to the role of CMO at Ola Electric in 2022. (Read more)
