Nutanix powers Karnataka Bank's critical applications with cloud platform
Nutanix, a provider of hybrid multicloud computing solutions, announced on Thursday that its Cloud Platform (NCP) is being used by Karnataka Bank to manage all critical business applications. NCP, which supports Kubernetes, facilitates the deployment and operation of key applications in areas such as mobile and internet banking, fraud and risk management, and loan management.
The platform also supports a cloud-native digital currency application required by the Reserve Bank of India. Karnataka Bank chose Nutanix for its ability to deploy and integrate cloud-native solutions seamlessly, ensuring uninterrupted service for its customers.
To strengthen resilience, NCP has been implemented in the bank's second on-premises datacenter, enabling critical applications to continue running during unexpected disruptions. This ensures consistent availability and operational stability.
“Our customers are digitally savvy, so this requires us to quickly roll-out and provide cloud-native applications that are easy to use, can be easily updated, and are always available,” said Venkat Krishnan, CIO, Karnataka Bank.
Faiz Shakir, vice president, Southern Asia, at Nutanix, said, “Our collaboration with Karnataka Bank also highlights how Nutanix can help financial institutions deploy and provide cloud-native applications that need to run in containers across any environment, whether on-premises or in the cloud.”
Nutanix has previously worked with other banks, including Ashur International Bank in Iraq, to establish IT infrastructure for scaling cloud-native applications. It also collaborated with The Bank of East Asia to enhance compliance through AI-powered speech-to-text solutions for sales surveillance.
