Mumbai-based Lumina Datamatics has signed a definitive agreement to acquire publishing technology and services company TQNTech. Chennai-based TNQTech provides AI-based prepress publishing and software development services to leading international publishers of scientific, technology, and medical journals and books.

After the completion of the acquisition, TNQTech will become the step-down subsidiary of Lumina Datamatics’ parent Datamatics Global Services. The acquisition aims to strengthen Lumina Datamatics’ 6,500 employees globally and establish it as leaders in the digital content domain. It will help the company enhance its suite of AI-enabled technology and products used by some of the largest commercial publishers and marquee customers.

“In combination with our existing capabilities at the forefront of content workflows by managing the entire publishing process – from content creation to product delivery – this acquisition will enable us to strengthen our suite of AI-enabled technology and products which are used by some of the largest commercial publishers, prestigious learned societies,  associations, and university presses, and through them, by millions of authors,” said Sameer Kanodia, Managing Director & CEO, Lumina Datamatics.

“We will benefit from Lumina Datamatics’ rich experience of working with global enterprise customers and their broad range of publishing and technology solutions. We see a clear alignment with TNQTech’s offerings in these areas,” said Mariam Ram, Managing Director, TNQTech. 

The deal is expected to be completed in two tranches. In the first phase, 80% of shareholding will be purchased for ₹336 crore by end of this year. The second tranche is expected to be completed by end of July 2026.
