Edelweiss appoints Ninad Varadkar as SVP and Group CISO
Edelweiss Financial Services Limited has announced the appointment of Ninad Varadkar as Senior Vice President and Group Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). The move underscores the company’s focus on enhancing its cybersecurity measures in response to the evolving digital environment.
Ninad Varadkar brings extensive experience in information security to his new role. He has previously held key positions at Ocwen Financial Corporation as Manager of Information Security and at HDFC Life as Information Security Manager. His background includes expertise in handling advanced security challenges, such as ransomware and Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs), implementing Zero Trust architecture for multi-cloud systems, and automating security operations.
In his new role, Varadkar will lead Edelweiss’s cybersecurity initiatives across its group entities. He will focus on ensuring strong defenses and operational resilience against emerging cyber threats while aligning security strategies with business objectives.
Varadkar’s past contributions include developing strategic security roadmaps, modernizing defense systems, and helping organizations adopt secure and scalable practices. His ability to assess risks and guide decision-making has supported businesses in managing complex security challenges effectively.
