Consulting and outsourcing firm Genpact announced the opening of its new office in Lucknow today. By the end of 2025, the company plans to employ more than 2,000 people, marking a strong foothold in the region.

The company said that the investment in Lucknow is part of Genpact’s strategy to build an AI workforce and enhance its ability to deliver advanced technologies and digital transformation services globally. The new center will provide opportunities for local talent to enhance skill and develop in-demand expertise. 

“Lucknow is a city with a rich heritage and a promising technological future,” said Vipin Gairola, Global Operating Officer, Genpact. “By establishing a presence here, we aim to tap into the city’s exceptional talent pool and drive innovation across our global operations. Our commitment to leveraging advanced technologies and talent development will empower us to deliver exceptional value to clients worldwide.”

This announcement on the heels of inauguration of Genpact’s offices in other tier-2 and -3 cities like Jaipur, Jodhpur, Madurai, and Warangal. “This expansion reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its presence and empowering local talent in emerging regions,” the company said in a statement.

Apart from expansion to newer locations, Genpact has also made a few high-profile appointments. The company announced the appointment of  Balkrishan 'BK' Kalra, after its president and CEO, NV 'Tiger' Tyagarajan retired in February. Kalra has been a Genpact veteran, working there since 1999. He was earlier the global business leader for financial services and consumer and healthcare segments. In February, the company named Vidya Rao as its new chief technology and transformation officer and Vipin Gairola as the Global Operating Officer. Genpact elevated Piyush Mehta to the post of India country manager. This was an expansion of Mehta’s existing role as the chief human resource officer.
