Accenture and PUMA India team up to boost supply chain speed and sustainability

Accenture, an IT services provider and sportswear company PUMA India have partnered to enhance PUMA’s supply chain and distribution network across India. This collaboration focuses on improving fulfillment speed and lowering operational costs by leveraging Accenture’s digital twin technology and analytics solutions.

The partnership involves redesigning PUMA India’s supply chain infrastructure, including distribution hubs and regional warehouses. The changes aim to improve efficiency in meeting consumer demand throughout India’s states and union territories. Key updates to PUMA’s fulfillment centers include redesigned layouts and streamlined material flows, intended to enable quicker dispatches and support faster deliveries while reducing shipping costs.

The new solution will apply to both PUMA India’s e-commerce and retail channels. It is projected to increase delivery speeds by up to 70% and cut supply chain expenses by up to 10%. Additionally, the solution aims to double PUMA’s express-delivery capacity for online orders, the company said.

Karthik Balagopalan, managing director of PUMA India, said, “Working with Accenture as our consultant to design a mature, analytics-powered future ready supply chain and distribution network will allow us the flexibility to adapt and scale our operations as per the evolving needs of our huge customer base across tiers.”

Saurabh Kumar Sahu, who leads Accenture’s India business, added, “Consumers have an array of choices in products, channels, prices, and delivery options. Using advanced analytics, this collaboration builds a solid foundation to drive profitability, operational efficiency, and sustainability for PUMA in India.”

In line with sustainability goals, the collaboration also focuses on reducing carbon emissions. Through partnerships with third-party logistics providers, Accenture is supporting PUMA India’s sustainability efforts by equipping fulfillment centers with solar power, reusable materials, and EV charging stations, the company said.
