Dell announces new capability additions to edge ops platform
Dell Technologies has announced advancements to its edge operations software platform Dell NativeEdge to help organizations deploy, scale, and use AI at the edge.
These capabilities are expected to address the enterprise demand for connected and secure systems, and offer AI software integrations and high-availability (HA) capabilities to provide more resiliency and reliability in the deployment and management of AI at the edge.
With its latest capabilities, NativeEdge software now supports multinode high-availability (HA) clustering for NativeEdge Endpoints, including Dell PowerEdge servers, OptiPlex and Precision workstations, and Dell Gateways. These endpoints can be clustered together by NativeEdge software to act as a single system. This will allow organisations to maintain critical business processes and edge AI workloads; help in adapting to changing workload demands; and integrate Native.Edge Endpoints with external storage solutions.
Further, Dell is also expanding its existing catalog of 55 pre-built Dell NativeEdge Blueprints for AI applications and frameworks deployment. The new additions include open-source tools, such as Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, MLflow, and Grafana; Aveva Unified Operations Center; Dell Data Collector; EPIC iO, among others.
“Our NativeEdge expansion automates the deployment and management of edge AI workloads, with features to support business continuity, so organizations can continually use the latest AI advancements at the edge to drive revenues and positive customer outcomes,” said Gil Shneorson, senior vice president, solutions and platforms, Dell Technologies.
Dell Technologies announces financial results for its fiscal 2025 second quarter in August, reporting a revenue of $25.0 billion, up 9% year over year. The company also said that its AI momentum accelerated in Q2, seeing an increase in the number of enterprise customers buying AI solutions each quarter.
