India’s third-largest IT services firm, HCL Technologies, on Thursday bagged a digital transformation deal from the Tasman District Council in New Zealand. The deal will enhance digital user experiences for both employees and residents within the Tasman district. 

Tasman District Council is the unitary local authority for the Tasman District of New Zealand.

HCLTech will utilise Microsoft Dynamics 365 to transition the Tasman District Council to a sophisticated digital framework that will foster more significant interactions between the Council’s 58,000 residents and its staff.

The new digital infrastructure will incorporate GenAI and automation technologies to expedite and streamline customer processes, including service requests and application submissions.

Leonie Rae, CEO, of Tasman District Council said that the organization is evolving its operations to address the needs of its expanding community both presently and in the future. 

“Moving to a modern digital platform will create efficiencies in how we work, which will support staff, improve service delivery, and facilitate greater engagement and collaboration opportunities with our community,” said Rae.

Sonia Eland, Executive Vice President and Country Manager, Australia and New Zealand, HCLTech said that the Tasman District Council had a clear objective to develop a digital foundation that is flexible and scalable enough to meet their current and future needs. 

“The partnership will enable residents to interact with the Council anytime, anywhere and in any way that suits them,” she said.
