Hybrid Cloud firm Nutanix has appointed Daryush Ashjari to the role of chief technology officer of the Asia-Pacific Japan region. This is an expansion of Ashjari’s current role as vice president of Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) Solution Engineering.

In the new role, Daryush will be responsible for engineering, technical operations, and developing innovative solutions for today’s hybrid multicloud requirements. Additionally, he will lead C-level engagements across the region. He is based in Sydney and leads a team of engineers across the APJ region. He also directs the company’s technical and solution development engagements with corporations and governments in the region.

An IT industry veteran, Daryush has close to four decades of IT experience. Before joining his current role at Nutanix, he worked with leading firms such as IBM, Novell, Cisco, Citrix, EMC, and McAfee. He is an accomplished electrical, electronic, and computer science engineer, along with being a certified Prosci Change Management Practitioner.

Daryush’s appointment comes after a few shakeups in the executive line at Nutanix. In August, Nutanix appointed Faiz Shakir as managing director of its India division. Shakir has been with Nutanix for over eight years, most recently serving as the VP and managing director-sales for the India division.

In the same month, the company appointed Prasanna Ranade as the Senior Director of Enterprise and Govt Sales. Ranade will oversee Nutanix’s enterprise and government sales strategies in this role and drive growth across these sectors.
