Global design and technology services firm Tata Elxsi has launched "Coalesce," a collaboration platform powered by Qualcomm Technologies' Snapdragon Spaces XR Platform. Coalesce integrates spatial computing, digital twins, and simulations, offering product review and remote collaboration capabilities that allow global teams to engage in 360-degree product model evaluations. The platform also enables users to share text, audio comments, notes, and screen recordings for real-time collaboration.

Snapdragon Spaces XR Platform, developed by Qualcomm Technologies, allows enterprises to create enhanced experiences for XR (Extended Reality) devices. It is designed for transformative use cases across various industries.

Tata Elxsi’s Coalesce, which is device-agnostic and web-based, is built on the Snapdragon Spaces platform and features an intuitive interface with customisable functionality. It supports navigation through gestures, cloud integration, and Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, making it particularly useful for sectors like automotive, manufacturing, rail, and high-tech industries. The platform facilitates design reviews, virtual walkthroughs, and training, reducing the need for physical prototypes and enhancing collaboration.

"Product design and engineering are advancing rapidly with augmented virtual reality and spatial computing. Coalesce improves digital twins and performance simulations, setting new standards in XR for product development," said Aditya S. Chikodi, Vice President & Head - Industrial Design, Engineering, & XR at Tata Elxsi.

Neilson, Senior Director, Product Management at Qualcomm Technologies, said, “Tata Elxsi’s Coalesce platform will enable industries to collaborate and make real-time decisions in product design using immersive environments on Snapdragon Spaces.”

Last month, the company integrated the Reference Design Kit-Broadband (RDK-B) software stack with Qualcomm’s 5G FW Gen 3 platform, enabling telecom operators to provide scalable, fast broadband solutions. The RDK-B integration supports Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, enhanced security, and packet statistics for both indoor and outdoor deployments.
