GoDaddy brings new GenAI tool for small businesses, startups in India
American web hosting provider GoDaddy has introduced a generative artificial intelligence (AI) tool designed to enhance operational efficiency for small businesses in India by streamlining the creation of logos, websites, emails, and social media campaigns in minutes.
The new solution known as Airo has capabilities that include recommending catchy domain names with a simple description of a business idea, generating content for websites, designing unique, custom logos, and creating professional email accounts to boost business credibility. Additionally, it offers custom photo descriptions for online stores.
On her visit to India, Laura Messerschmitt, President, of GoDaddy International Independents told TechCircle, on Tuesday, that AI has the potential to transform small business operations, particularly in marketing, business planning, strategy, and the overall customer experience.
“Our Global Entrepreneurship survey in 2024 revealed that 94% of small business owners in India recognise AI's potential in these areas,” Messerschmitt said.
However, she believes that SMEs have challenges when it comes to getting started. The top three reasons for not implementing AI are a lack of awareness of available solutions potential costs and lack of time to implement these tools, she said.
The new tool is the AI enablement of our products and services. It’s our underlying AI technology built on top of our data platform.
Regarding the accuracy of Airo, Messerschmitt believes that the company conducts experiments with a high accuracy threshold, ensuring that it promotes only those solutions that deliver substantial accuracy and benefit our customers. “While there are variations that we continue to learn from, the core experience has consistently exceeded our expectations in terms of accuracy,” she said.
As GoDaddy does not have its large language models (LLMs) for generative AI, it utilises several models, including ChatGPT, and Gemini, among others in the background to facilitate generative AI, while integrating it into its workflows and products.
With Airo released for the Indian market, GoDaddy has become the latest in a series of major companies to enter the competitive world of small business AI. Corporations, including Square, Amazon, Shopify, and PayPal, have launched multiple platforms over the last year targeted at entrepreneurs, especially those with a focus on digital retail.
