Former Infosys executive Sikhin Tanu Shaw has joined the German multinational technology conglomerate Siemens as Chief Information Officer (CIO), Head of Information Technology — Siemens Financial Services — India.

Shaw shared the information in a LinkedIn post.

Shaw comes with nearly 23 years of experience in the industry. Before joining Siemens, he served at Canfin Homes Ltd for over 6 years as CIO.

Prior to that he was associated with Infosys for around 16 years handling various key positions.

He holds a degree in Digital Transformation from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore) and an MBA in Engineering Management from Coventry University, England.

Apart from this, Shaw also holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information Technology from Calcutta University.

For the second quarter of the 2024 financial year, ending March 31, 2024, Siemens Limited reported a revenue of ₹5,248 crore, marking a 19% growth compared to the same quarter in the previous year. Profit after tax reached ₹896 crore, representing 17% of the revenue and a significant 74% increase from the same period last year. The company also secured new orders worth ₹5,184 crore during this quarter.

In July this year, the company secured an order from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) for the electrification of the Bengaluru Metro Phase 2 project in partnership with Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL). The total order is valued at approximately ₹766 crore, with Siemens Limited’s share amounting to ₹558 crore.

As part of the project, Siemens will design, engineer, install, and commission rail electrification technologies, along with a digital Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. The project spans 58 kilometers, covering 30 stations and connecting Bengaluru Airport terminal to Central Silk Board via KR Puram, as well as two depots. With this contract, Siemens now operates in 11 of the 20 Indian cities that have a metro system.
