Uni optimises risk management and decision making with Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud
Snowflake, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Data Cloud services provider, has announced that fintech company Uni is using Snowflake’s platform to create a modern data infrastructure. This new system allows Uni to launch applications, improve customer lifecycle management, test new services, and drive innovation in the credit industry.
By using Snowflake’s platform, Uni has centralised its data operations, enabling faster decision-making for leadership and business teams. This move has improved risk management processes and allowed for the development of personalised products based on customer needs.
Uni selected Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud because it offers a secure, unified platform that supports various data workloads at scale. The platform integrates multiple data sources, such as credit bureau reports, enabling Uni to conduct analytics centrally. This has significantly reduced the time spent on data processing from 2-3 days to under an hour, improving customer satisfaction and response to feedback, the company said.
The company operates over 70 microservices in credit management, each with its own database. With Snowflake, setting up data pipelines for new applications now takes less than five minutes. This reduction in setup time eases the workload on Uni’s engineering teams, allowing them to focus on more critical tasks. Snowflake also helps Uni manage reconciliation and regulatory reporting in real-time, and understand customer preferences to enhance the user experience.
Looking ahead, Uni plans to use Snowflake’s Snowpipe Streaming for operational efficiency and cost savings. Additionally, with Snowflake’s Data Clean Rooms, Uni aims to streamline data management across departments and external partners securely. This will support efforts to improve marketing strategies and product innovation. The company also plans to leverage AI for anomaly detection to identify fraud and track improper cash flows.
Abhra Dasgupta, Director of Engineering, Uni, said, “We have been working with Snowflake since our inception, and today, all our strategic business decisions are data-driven. With the AI Data Cloud, we can share data across different platforms securely and easily, driving innovation and faster go-to-market.”
Vijayant Rai, Managing Director, India, Snowflake, said, "The fintech industry in India relies heavily on data and insights to drive business growth. We are proud to have shaped Uni’s data strategy and collaborated on many of its first launches in the market. Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud platform has helped Uni be at the forefront of innovation and customer experience.”
