Web Werks – Iron Mountain Data Centers, Lightstorm partner to strengthen India's digital infrastructure
Web Werks – Iron Mountain Data Centers, a data center services provider, has joined hands with Lightstorm, a hyperscale networking services company. The collaboration aims to enhance digital infrastructure for Indian enterprises and Internet Service Providers (ISPs), offering scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions to meet the growing demands of the digital landscape.
The partnership combines Web Werks' data center footprint and Lightstorm's networking capabilities. Together, they will deliver cloud and networking solutions, designed to streamline resource utilisation and reduce the total cost of IT infrastructure ownership for Indian businesses. This will allow enterprises to access enhanced data center and cloud resources while maintaining a focus on security and compliance with local and international regulations.
The collaboration offers improved simplicity and efficiency in managing compute, storage, and connectivity resources, resulting in faster data transmission, enhanced resilience, and reduced operational costs. These advancements will enable enterprises to take control of their digital transformation, allowing for innovation and growth rather than treating IT infrastructure as a cost center.
Nikhil Rathi, Founder and CEO of Web Werks – Iron Mountain Data Centers, said, "By combining our data center footprint with Lightstorm's networking solutions, we’re not just enhancing connectivity—we’re revolutionising the way businesses operate in an increasingly competitive and rapidly evolving digital landscape."
Amajit Gupta, Group MD and CEO of Lightstorm, said, "This partnership brings our Network-as-a-Service product family, Polarin, to Indian enterprises, enabling their digital transformation with seamless connectivity to almost any combination of data center and cloud resources, deployed instantly."
In January this year, Web Werks India proposed to invest ₹20,000 crore to set up a data centre in Bengaluru and said that it would generate over 1,000 jobs. Further, in the same month, it also announced plans to invest ₹10,000 crore to invest in Maharashtra to build a data centre over the next 5 years, which will provide direct employment to 150,000 people.
Additionally, in the same month, it announced a ₹5,200 crore investment in Telangana. The company, which already operates data centers in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, and Delhi, expanded its presence by launching a new data center in Hyderabad in May 2023.
