Jan Kathleen Hier elected as Chairperson of Mphasis Board

Information Technology (IT) solutions provider Mphasis has announced the election of Jan Kathleen Hier as the new Chairperson of its Board, effective from October 1, 2024. Hier, who has served as an Independent Director for the company since December 2015, succeeds Davinder Singh Brar, who retired on September 30.
 
Hier brings extensive leadership experience to her new role. Before joining Mphasis, she held executive positions at Charles Schwab, where she oversaw centralized support services, including Schwab Technology Services, Operational Services, and Offshore Services. Hier also served as Chief Information Officer and Executive Vice President of Human Resources during her tenure at Schwab. Her career spans over two decades, demonstrating her expertise in driving innovation and managing large-scale operations.
 
Hier holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Syracuse University, US.
 
Mphasis CEO and Managing Director Nitin Rakesh said, “Her broad industry knowledge, leadership experience, and deep understanding of advising global clients make her the ideal person for this role. In other leadership developments, Mphasis appointed Ashish Devalekar as its new Head of Europe in January 2024. Devalekar, with over two decades of experience, will focus on driving growth across Mphasis' Europe business. Meanwhile, Anurag Bhatia, the current Head of Europe, will take charge of Mphasis' Global Business Process Services (BPS) division.
 
Additionally, in October 2023, Mphasis named Ayaskant Sarangi as its new Global Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO). Sarangi, who previously held leadership roles at Wipro Enterprises and Wipro Technologies, will now lead Mphasis' global HR strategy, focusing on talent management and leadership development.
