Persistent to acquire Pune-based data privacy company Arrka
Digital engineering company Persistent Systems has announced to acquire Pune-based data privacy solutions provider Arrka. The acquisition aims to bolster Persistent’s artificial intelligence (AI)-led, platform-driven services while expanding its capabilities in digital governance, data privacy, AI governance, and cybersecurity. With this acquisition, Persistent plans to help clients accelerate their digital transformation journeys while maintaining ethical, responsible, and compliant AI systems.
Arrka’s Data Privacy Management platform allows organisations to manage data privacy risks and comply with complex legal and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions. Persistent plans to integrate and broaden Arrka’s offerings, deepening its digital governance and trust capabilities. The company will enhance AI governance, ensuring that businesses implement AI solutions that are trustworthy and transparent. Additionally, Persistent will develop tailored solutions for managing user consent, handling data subject rights requests, and ensuring transparency in data processing.
Sandeep Kalra, CEO and Executive Director of Persistent, said, “By integrating Arrka’s expertise, we are empowering businesses to innovate responsibly while managing risk and compliance more effectively.”
Shivangi Nadkarni, Co-Founder of Arrka, said, “With Persistent’s resources, we have the opportunity to expand into global markets and deepen our expertise in digital governance. This comes at a crucial time as the domain experiences significant growth with the rise of AI.”
In addition to this acquisition, Persistent Systems recently entered into an asset purchase agreement with SoHo Dragon. Under the deal, the IT services firm will acquire select assets, including employees, contractors, and a customer contract, for $4.7 million. The acquisition, expected to be completed in 4 to 8 weeks, will generate annual revenue of approximately $9.3 million.
Earlier in July, Persistent Systems also announced the acquisition of New Jersey-based Starfish Associates, strengthening its engineering capabilities in the contact center and unified communications space. The total purchase consideration for the acquisition of Starfish was $20.7 million (around ₹171.8 crore).
