AWS to provide cloud services for India’s Public Sector Banks through PSB alliance
Amazon Web Services India has been chosen by PSB Alliance Private Limited (PSBA) to provide cloud computing services for India’s public sector banks.
PSBA, an organization formed by 12 public sector banks including SBI, PNB, and Bank of Baroda, selected AWS to streamline cloud adoption for its member banks.
The partnership allows these banks to leverage AWS’s Community Cloud Services without the need for individual procurement processes. AWS services will be delivered through two managed service providers (MSPs), Orient Technologies and Hitachi Systems, who will help banks integrate and manage their cloud operations.
With AWS, the banks can build a secure, scalable technology infrastructure that supports innovation and enhances service delivery. The shift to the cloud will also enable public sector banks to adopt new technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), improving personalized customer experiences and speeding up service delivery.
Through this collaboration, PSBA member banks will also gain access to advanced Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions, including financial service marketplaces and platforms like eBKray, which facilitates the management of non-performing assets (NPAs) through online auctions.
Pankaj Gupta, Leader Public Sector, AWS India Private Limited, said, “Building on AWS enables public sector banks not only to derive the benefits of reliable application performance, scalability, and cost performance, but also prepares them to quickly adopt artificial intelligence and machine learning, to create more personalized experiences for customers, and build differentiated services.”
In addition to this partnership with PSBA, AWS has been actively supporting other government initiatives. The National Health Authority (NHA) and the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) both use AWS to scale their digital operations, enhancing healthcare services and streamlining government procurement processes.
