Ex-SAP Labs exec appointed CTO of Insurtech firm Probus
Probus, an Insurtech company based in Mumbai, on Monday, appointed Anand Agrawal as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Agarwal, who has over two decades of experience in the banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) and Healthcare sectors, will be instrumental in shaping Probus’ technology vision and accelerating its mission to transform insurance distribution through innovative solutions, the company said in a statement.
Agarwal served as the CTO of Docplexus, an online platform for doctors, where he transformed digital healthcare platforms with cloud technologies. He also co-founder a company called River Fintech Labs, where he developed omnichannel customer experience solutions for the financial services sector.
Earlier in his career, Agarwal held key roles at SAP Labs, driving enterprise mobility solutions and collaborating with global stakeholders.

In his new role, Agrawal will lead the development and deployment of advanced technological capabilities, aiming to elevate Probus' platform and drive its competitive edge. His focus will be on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and omnichannel strategies to streamline distribution and enhance customer engagement.
Established in 2003, Probus has transitioned from a traditional insurance brokerage firm to a tech-enabled platform, currently offering motor insurance, life insurance, health insurance, travel insurance, and sachet products on its online platform. In 2021, Probus raised $6.7 million in a funding round led by Switzerland-based BlueOrchard Impact Investment Managers.
The company is also working in the field of climate insurance for retail customers. With a dedicated team of over 500 professionals and an expanding network of over 38 offices, Probus has tailor-made product offerings with Tier II and III cities comprising more than 80 per cent of its reach.
