Tata Elxsi launches 5G applications lab to drive digital transformation
Tata Elxsi, a global design and technology services company, has opened its 5G applications lab 'xG-Force' in Bengaluru. The lab is designed to accelerate innovation and digital transformation across industries such as transportation, healthcare, Industry 4.0, and media. It offers ready-to-use infrastructure, tools, and a partner ecosystem for developing 5G applications.
The xG-Force lab will address critical areas such as private 5G networks, connected vehicles, digital health, and smart factories, while also focusing on reducing risks in transportation safety and healthcare data security, it said in a regulatory filing.
The lab was inaugurated by Tata Elxsi’s MD and CEO, Manoj Raghavan, alongside Kevin Plunkett, Vice President of Cloud Services at Boost Mobile (formerly DISH Wireless). Boost Mobile will be the first company to leverage the lab's offerings, marking a collaboration between the two firms.
Tata Elxsi will serve as the systems integrator for the initiative, using its platforms to develop 5G applications. These platforms include Neuron for autonomous networks, TETHER for connected vehicles, TEngage for digital health, and TEDAx for big data. The lab will enable customers to reduce operational costs, explore new revenue models, and support data-driven innovations.
Raghavan said, “The xG-Force lab is a vital force multiplier for our customers, providing a platform to explore, validate, and accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies.”
The lab's ecosystem includes partnerships with companies like RedHat for private cloud services, AccuKnox for cloud security, i2i systems for 5G core technology, and Rebaca for testing tools. Tata Elxsi plans to expand these collaborations globally.
