L&T Semiconductor Technologies, a subsidiary of Larsen and Turbo, has collaborated with IBM to design advanced processors. The scope of the partnership will include processor design for edge devices and hybrid cloud systems, as well as for areas like mobility, industrial, energy, and servers.

The two firms will be focusing on innovation, functionality, and performance to develop secure and scalable compute for different applications.

The goal of our work with IBM is to harness our cutting-edge semiconductor design technology and IBM’s advanced processors to forge next-gen technology products,” said Sandeep Kumar, CEO, L&T Semiconductor Technologies.

The partnership announcement has been made before the Semicon India event, which will take place in Noida between September 11 and 13. The event, with the theme ‘shaping the semiconductor future, will be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi. 

In a separate but related news, HCLTech, a leading global technology company, will showcase a comprehensive suite of enterprise, digital and engineering innovations specifically designed Semicon India from September 11-13. The suite of solutions on showcase will include conversational AI, HCLTech AI Force - a generative AI solution that accelerates software development lifecycle, Digital Twins for Wafer Handler and Rack System, Spec to Parts and Spec to Platform and HCLTech Proto ATMP lab demos.
