TCS, Google expand tie-up for AI-led cybersecurity solutions
India’s largest IT services firm, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), said on Tuesday that it has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to offer two new cybersecurity solutions.
The two cybersecurity solutions are the TCS Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solution, which is powered by Google Security Operations, and the TCS Secure Cloud Foundation.
The Google Security Operations platform powers the MDR solution and will enable security teams to reduce the time needed to detect and respond to threats. It will also enable continuous security monitoring and round-the-clock response, according to a statement by TCS.
The statement added that TCS Secure Cloud Foundation will leverage the capabilities from Google Cloud's security solutions to strengthen cloud security posture and governance across single, multi and hybrid cloud environments by embedding security and compliance guardrails throughout the DevSecOps lifecycle. It further said that by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and automation, the solution continuously monitors risks, identifies deviations and recommends remedial actions.
"This partnership brings together the best of capabilities, contextual knowledge, and accelerators from TCS and Google Cloud to holistically protect the digital estates of enterprise customers, to help them be future-ready, cyber resilient businesses," Ganesa Subramanian, VP and global head of cybersecurity business group, TCS, said.
This solution has assisted a global bank, headquartered in Germany, in automating, identifying, and deploying over 800 build-time and runtime security policies, ensuring there is adherence to regulatory compliance requirements.
Nidhi Srivastava, Vice President and Executive Champion for Google Cloud at TCS, said, "Our deep industry knowledge, comprehensive portfolio, and ability to scale on Google Cloud enables us to rapidly create value for our customers."
TCS’ cybersecurity offerings range from consulting, and implementation to managing security services across – detection and response, identity and access management, attack surface management, governance, risk and compliance, data privacy and protection, digital forensics and incident response and cloud security.
The TCS and Google Cloud partnership spans over a decade. TCS said the new phase of this partnership will focus on leveraging Google Cloud's AI-powered security portfolio across threat intelligence, security operations and cloud security. Subramanian said the rise of Generative AI underscores the need to modernise cybersecurity and strengthen cyber resilience.
To be sure, last month, Indian IT services firm Wipro also expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to scale the adoption of Google Cloud AI. Under this partnership, Wipro said it is building new industry solutions and prototypes of internal applications utilising Gemini models, developing go-to-market programs, and integrating Gemini Code Assist.
Tech Mahindra also announced a collaboration with Google Cloud in August to accelerate the adoption of GenAI and spearhead digital transformation initiatives for Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), one of India's foremost industrial conglomerates. Under this collaboration, Tech Mahindra will leverage advanced AI and machine learning (ML) technologies to enhance various functions within M&M, including engineering, supply chain, pre-sales, and after-sales services.
For the June quarter, TCS’ consolidated net profit grew 9% year-on-year to ₹12,040 crore and revenue rose 5.4% to ₹62,613 crore.
