KPMG India, Zscaler collaborate to enhance cybersecurity for firms

Professional services firm KPMG India has partnered with Zscaler, a cloud security services provider, to offer data security services to businesses across India. This alliance is designed to help organisations align with Zero Trust principles, providing protection for their digital assets, including endpoints, cloud workloads, identities, and data.

The partnership will enable KPMG in India to deliver integrated technology solutions that simplify and enhance cloud security operations for clients. By adopting this modern approach, organisations can transition from outdated security models to a more resilient Zero Trust framework tailored for the cloud.

As India’s cybersecurity landscape evolves rapidly, organisations face mounting challenges in safeguarding their systems against cyber threats. Insights from KPMG in India’s 2023 CEO Outlook reveal that a significant majority of Indian CEOs see generative artificial intelligence (AI) as a double-edged sword in cybersecurity—it offers new tools for defense but also presents fresh vulnerabilities for cybercriminals to exploit. This underscores the urgent need for enhanced cybersecurity measures to protect against emerging threats.

This collaboration brings together Zscaler’s advanced Zero Trust Exchange platform, which includes services such as secure internet access, private application access, data protection, and secure workload communications, with KPMG in India’s deep expertise in cybersecurity advisory and digital trust services.

Atul Gupta, Partner and Head of Digital Trust and Cyber Security Services at KPMG in India, highlighted the importance of this alliance, noting that it represents a crucial step in providing comprehensive technology solutions to help organisations navigate the complexities of cyber risk. The collaboration, he explained, leverages KPMG’s consulting expertise alongside Zscaler’s cutting-edge technology, enabling businesses to build trust and fully capitalize on their digital transformation efforts.

Ananth Nag, Area Vice President for India at Zscaler, underscored India’s leadership in global digital transformation and the vital role of cybersecurity in sustaining this momentum. He pointed out that, with the introduction of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the alliance is well-positioned to assist businesses in meeting regulatory requirements and deploying tailored cybersecurity solutions to counter the rapidly evolving threat landscape.

On June 12, Zscaler, a leader in cloud security, announced a partnership with NVIDIA to enhance its AI-powered security services. The collaboration will leverage NVIDIA's advanced AI technologies to strengthen Zscaler’s capabilities in protecting enterprises from cyber threats and optimizing IT operations.

By integrating NVIDIA's NeMo Guardrails, Morpheus framework, and NIM inference microservices, Zscaler will enhance its Zero Trust Exchange platform. These new AI capabilities will enable Zscaler's tools to process data more efficiently, allowing for faster detection and response to security threats.
