Ex-Dell exec joins Securonix as CEO

Cybersecurity firm Securonix has appointed Kash Shaikh as the President and Chief Executive Officer. Shaikh will also be joining as a member of its Board of Directors.

An industry veteran of 30 years, he holds experience in business transformation and delivering technology solutions for enterprise organisations. He has worked in firms such as Dell, Ruckus Wireless, Hewlett Packard, Cisco, and Nortel Networks. His last held role was that of CEO and President of hybrid-cloud infrastructure observability solutions provider Virtana. 

“Shaikh is a veteran, customer-focused technology executive with extensive experience leading and scaling businesses providing mission-critical software products to enterprise customers around the world,” said Nadeem Syed, Senior Managing Director and Head of Value Creation at Vista Equity Partners and Securonix board member. “We look forward to working closely with Shaikh and the entire Securonix team during this exciting next phase of accelerated profitable growth.”

Shaikh succeeds Nayaki Nayyar who will now focus on public Board service. 

In the last few months, Securonix has seen a few high-profile appointments. It includes Venkat Kotla’s appointment as the chief technology officer. Kotla leads the company’s engineering function and develop partnerships with other technology organisations to support the demand for the company’s security information and event management (SIEM) solutions. Further, the Texas-based company also hired Mark Stevens as the vice president of strategic alliances to help the growth of the company through partnerships and alliances.

As per a Juniper Research study, business spending on SIEM, a field in which Securonix specialises, is expected to grow to $6.4 billion by 2027.
