Ashoka University has appointed Annie Mathew as its new Vice President of Information Technology. Bringing over 30 years of IT experience, Mathew will be responsible for shaping the university's technological landscape. 

At Ashoka, her role will include developing a comprehensive IT strategy, modernising IT infrastructure, fostering a culture of digital adoption, and ensuring robust cybersecurity measures to protect data and assets. She will also collaborate with key stakeholders to create a strong networking ecosystem. The IT team at Ashoka, led by Anu Batra, will work closely with Mathew to achieve these goals. 

“At Ashoka, Annie will be instrumental in shaping our technological landscape as we build the university further. Annie’s focus will be on developing a comprehensive IT strategy, modernizing IT infrastructure, fostering a culture of digital processes & digital adoption across the university, ensuring robust cybersecurity measures to protect university data and assets, and working with key stakeholders to create a robust networking ecosystem at Ashoka,” the varsity said in blog post related to Mathew’s profile description.

Before joining Ashoka, she worked at Mother Dairy for 18 years. There, she was instrumental in establishing IT as a central service and consolidating hardware, software, and network administration across the organisation. Her efforts led to the first successful SAP implementation in the Indian dairy industry. 

Annie holds a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from LIT, Nagpur University, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Systems Management from CDAC, Mumbai.
