SAP Labs India has made two key appointments for global artificial intelligence (AI) roles. Rahul Lodhe is named as the global head of engineering for SAP Business AI Copilot Joule and Sudhakar Singh as the chief AI security officer. Both will be based in the company’s Bengaluru hub.

“As multinational corporations increasingly establish their global leadership and oversee teams worldwide from India, SAP's decision to appoint two leaders from SAP Labs India to critical global AI roles underscores our commitment to empowering Indian talent on the world stage. I eagerly anticipate the contributions Lodhe and Singh will make to SAP's strategic initiatives in Business AI, propelling SAP Labs India to new heights of innovation and leadership,” said  Sindhu Gangadharan, MD, SAP Labs India and Head, Customer Innovation Services, SAP.

Lodhe is an industry veteran with 24 years of experience. In his new role, he will be working with various Lines of Business (LoB) for the integration of SAP’s AI copilot called Joule. On the other hand, Singh with over two decades of experience in cybersecurity, will spearhead trustworthy AI initiatives for SAP Business AI in his new role. As the chief AI security officer, he will focus on cybersecurity, data privacy, AI regulations, and compliance within the SAP Business AI portfolio. He will collaborate closely with global security teams and customer success to ensure regulatory adherence, drive innovation, and maintain high standards of security and privacy for customer data and operations.

The company announced its second-quarter financial result last week, reporting a 10% increase in revenue to €8.29 billion. The growth was driven by a 25% rise in cloud revenue. “Our cloud growth momentum remained strong in Q2, with Business AI enabling many deals. We continue to execute on our transformation with great discipline, leading to an increase in our operating profit ambition for 2025. At the same time, we continue to invest into our transformation to be the leader in Business AI,” said Christian Klein, CEO.
