Siemens Healthineers, a spin off from German technology conglomerate Siemens, has named Kalavathi GV as the Executive Director and Head of the Development Center (DC) in India. In her new role, she will oversee the operations of over 3,500 employees across India and Slovakia, spearheading the creation of precision healthcare solutions through artificial intelligence, automation, and digital transformation across all Siemens Healthineers business lines.
Kalavathi also known as “Kala” brings a wealth of experience in driving global digital transformation at major multinational corporations. Previously, she was associated with Philips Healthcare for over 14 years and spent a decade at GE Healthcare and held various leadership positions in both organisations.
She succeeds Dileep Mangsuli, who will now focus on leading global corporate initiatives against tuberculosis at Siemens Healthineers.
Peter Schardt, Chief Technology Officer at Siemens Healthineers, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Kala. Her extensive industry experience, particularly in medtech and healthcare, will be invaluable as we continue to pioneer healthcare breakthroughs. Kala’s leadership will inspire our teams globally, fostering a culture of collaboration, mutual learning, inclusivity, and growth.”
Kala, who holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from National Institute Of Engineering, Mysore, also emphasized the urgency of addressing the global healthcare gap.
“At least half of the world lacks access to essential healthcare services, a situation worsened by a shortage of trained professionals. There is a critical need to develop intuitive healthcare solutions accessible to all. Siemens Healthineers is leading the way in healthcare innovation, creating unique solutions aimed at providing quality patient care worldwide,” she said.
