Viacom18-owned JioCinema has made new additions to its technology leadership team, including the appointment of Bharath Ram as the chief product officer (CPO). The appointments come at a time when the OTT platform is enhancing its tech expertise, agility, and speed to market to aid in scaling operations.

Along with his new role as the CPO, Ram will also lead the AdTech platform. He will report to Kiran Mani, CEO – Digital, Viacom18. Before JoCinema, he led the product and engineering functions at e-commerce website Flipkart. In the past, he has worked with companies such as Instagram and Amazon Prime Video. Ram holds an M.S. in Computer Engineering from Ohio State University and an MBA from Ross School of Business, University of Michigan.

In addition to the new CPO, JioCinema is also onboarding a chief technical advisor and engineering leader for app experience. Vijay Sheshadri has been appointed as the chief technical advisor where he will be leveraging his experience in enterprise security, e-commerce, and large-scale distributed systems. He has held key roles at Swiggy, Amazon, and Symantec in the past.
