Persistent Systems to acquire US-based enterprise communication management firm
Digital engineering firm Persistent Systems has announced the acquisition of New Jersey-based Starfish Associates. With the acquisition, the Pune-based company will build on its existing engineering capabilities in the contact center and unified communications space, and expand AI-based business transformation capabilities.
The total purchase consideration payable for the acquisition of Starfish is $20.7 million (around ₹171.8 crore), as reported by Moneycontrol.
The acquisition will bring together Starfish Associates’ automation platform Persistent’s AI-powered automation capabilities and a strong customer base for optimisations, enhanced workflow efficiency, and agility. Starfish Associates offers multi-vendor communication management through automation with platforms such as Amazon Connect, Avaya, Cisco, Genesys, and Microsoft Teams. In addition, it integrates with ServiceNow, Workday, and Microsoft Active Directory to streamline workflows and operations.
The integration of Starfish Associates’ platform greatly enhances our unified communications and contact center management offerings as this industry undergoes significant disruption on the back of AI-led innovations. This acquisition paves the way for us to support our global clients to unlock the full potential of these innovations in their contact centers,” said Sandeep Kalra, CEO and Executive Director, Persistent.
Last month, Persistent Systems launched the GenAI Hub to create and deploy Generative AI (GenAI) applications quickly. By utilizing the existing infrastructure of an enterprise, its applications and data sources, this hub allows industry-specific GenAI solutions to be developed quickly. The GenAI Hub supports different cloud services and Large Language Models (LLMs), giving flexibility and avoiding vendor lock-in.
