Mid-sized information technology (IT) services company Hexaware Technologies, on Tuesday,  announced plans to expand its workforce by hiring between 6,000 and 8,000 employees across different international locations this year, with a significant number of recruits from India.

The company aims to attract talented professionals to its offshore, onshore, and near-shore centres in India, the US, Canada, Mexico, Poland, and the UK. This hiring spree reflects Hexaware's dedication to fostering innovation and enhancing client service capabilities, Hexaware said in a statement.

In India, Hexaware intends to recruit for key locations such as Hyderabad, Noida, Coimbatore, Dehradun, and Bengaluru. The company will organise recruitment drives in additional cities, including Ahmedabad, Indore, Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram to attract top-tier talent.

In India, the recruitment drive aims to fill critical roles with a strong focus on sought-after skills such as ServiceNow Tech Leads, Automation Testing Specialists (API), AEM Architects, Big Data Leads, and Workday Financial Consultants.

Specific city-based hiring initiatives will concentrate on Hyderabad and Noida for roles in IT Service Management (ITSM), Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD), and ServiceNow. In Coimbatore and Bengaluru, the focus will be on Azure Databricks, Python, and Azure Data Factory (ADF). At the same time, Hyderabad will seek expertise in AEM, Front-End Development, Microsoft Dynamics (MSD), Java Full Stack Development (FSD), and .NET Full Stack Development (FSD).

In the US, Hexaware's hiring efforts will focus on cities like McLean, Chicago, Dallas, Iselin, and Reston. Moreover, specific roles in Poland and the UK are also targeted for recruitment.

Meanwhile, in Canada, and Mexico, Hexaware plans to recruit Cloud Application Architects specialising in Azure, ESM Architects proficient in ServiceNow, Java Full Stack Engineers, Test Analysts skilled in automation (SDET), and Senior Java Full-stack Developers experienced with AWS.

In May, Hexaware announced the acquisition of Minneapolis-based data consulting firm Softcrylic for an undisclosed sum. The Mumbai-based company said in a statement that with this buyout it aims to strengthen its data and analytics capabilities by leveraging Softcrylic’s expertise in data strategy and marketing technology.

There’s also an increased focus on GenAI. In an interview with TechCircle in October last year, Hexaware CEO R Srikrishna said that by mid-2024, 100% of our tech workforce to be trained in GenAI.

In the next year, trends in economic downturns and cost-cutting will lead to increased outsourcing and growth due to investment in digital technologies. This means that the talent competition will remain fierce through FY25, with companies focusing on data, AI, and automation to drive cost savings instead of relying on labour arbitrage, he said.
