Tech Mahindra subsidiary Comviva has appointed key executives to drive business expansion in Europe and North America. This move is a strategic one aimed at accelerating growth and furthering deeper client relationships within the fast-evolving digital economy.

The new position of the Head of North America’s Direct Business Market Unit will be headed by Ian Paul Smith. His role entails establishing and nurturing strategic alliances with telecommunications companies throughout the area. With over 20 years of experience in sales leadership and senior management positions across top global technology firms such as Amdocs, Ericsson, and Microsoft among others, he is best placed to oversee growth for Comviva in North America.

In its bid to focus more on Europe, Comviva decided to split the region into two autonomous sub-regions: Europe 1 and Europe 2. Each sub-region will have a senior executive responsible for improving concentration on markets for telcos.

Markets in France, Iberia, Italy and all Eastern European countries including Russia will now be managed under Salah Rich who was appointed as the Head of the Europe 1 sub-region. Salah has been with Comviva since 2012; having over thirty years of leadership roles that are within technology as well as sales.

Rishi Ramphal has been appointed as the Head of Europe 2 sub-region where he will oversee direct sales operations in growth markets such as Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Nordics, UK and Ireland. He was formerly the CIO of MTN Group and is now also Comviva’s Chief Delivery Officer; he brings with him extensive global experience in providing support services to telecommunications companies.

“These strategic appointments by Rajesh Chandiramani, CEO at Comviva reflect our determination to hasten growth rate while strengthening our presence in important markets. This will enable us to be innovative and work closely with customers through Ian, Salah and Rishi who are going to steer our vision for the future in North America and Europe. They have had demonstrated competence coupled with a long period of service that they have worked within the industry therefore this will help them make it possible for comviva to increase its footprints globally and add value to digital economy. We are confident that their leadership will propel us towards sustained growth and greater success in these critical regions."

On June 1, Rajesh Chandiramani assumed the roles of CEO and Whole-time Director of Comviva. Chandiramani succeeds Manoranjan "Mao" Mohapatra, who retired at the end of May after a distinguished tenure. Mohapatra will remain on Comviva's board as a non-executive director. This leadership transition coincides with Comviva's 25th anniversary, reaffirming the company's commitment to advancing as a leader in intelligent software platforms.
