Honeywell launches software to streamline Manufacturing Operations

US-based automation and software solutions provider Honeywell has introduced a new software solution called Honeywell Batch Historian aimed at digitalising manufacturing processes. This software provides manufacturers with a comprehensive data history for better reporting and analytics, enhancing operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. 

The solution helps manufacturers analyse data and overcome challenges related to batch visualisation. It allows for direct data capture from batch engines without requiring complex configuration. 

The software features a user-friendly drag-and-drop tile configuration, eliminating the need for advanced programming skills or detailed knowledge of historian databases to develop reports. 

“Honeywell’s full suite of digital manufacturing technologies will help manufacturers improve product quality, regulatory compliance and overall efficiency in order to drive business outcomes,” said Shawn Opatka, Vice President and General Manager of Life Sciences at Honeywell Process Solutions. “Our approach is modular and flexible, helping companies begin their digitalisation journey by adopting new technologies as they need them.”                                                                                    

The solution is designed for industries such as specialty chemicals, life sciences, food and beverage, pulp and paper, and mining, materials, and metals. It enhances process efficiency and simplifies troubleshooting, thereby improving operational outcomes. The software's configuration capabilities also simplify batch reporting and data analysis, aiding operators in meeting strict industry reporting regulations, the company said. 

Recently, the company also updated its Guided Work Solutions to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). This update aims to enhance operational efficiency and customer experiences in the retail sector. The AI-driven speech technology in Guided Work Solutions helps in-store associates perform tasks like order fulfillment, shelf restocking, and returns processing more efficiently.
