Business analytics platform provider Qlik has partnered with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to enhance its data capabilities.

The partnership aims to strengthen the UNFCCC's ability to drive forward climate change negotiations and actions through improved data management and analysis.

By leveraging Qlik's advanced data integration, analytics, and AI solutions, the UNFCCC will be able to reconcile and make sense of vast amounts of global data, which often vary across borders. This will enable the organisation to improve its analysis methods and inform more meaningful and effective climate policies and strategies, the company said.

Qlik's applications will be integrated with the UNFCCC's data systems, creating a unified platform for data access and analysis. Interactive dashboards will also be developed to present transparent and accurate climate data to the public. The collaboration will also see Qlik providing training to UNFCCC staff to improve their data literacy and skill in using Qlik products.

Joaquim Barris, Data Scientist at UNFCCC, said, "This collaboration will enable us to implement more immediate, data-informed actions and better understand our diplomacy, political and climate data. We are particularly excited about exploring AI’s potential in analysing data of all types, including unstructured data. Qlik’s focus on data and analytics foundations makes them an ideal partner for tapping into AI’s potential."

Additionally, the company will streamline the process of standardising diverse data sources, making it easier to develop cohesive and comprehensive climate policies. The introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) tools will also enable continuous analysis, resulting in faster response times and more precise decision-making.

Qlik has also signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS), aiming to simplify the development and adoption of reliable enterprise AI solutions, the company said in a statement. This agreement includes targeted investments that combine Qlik's offerings with AWS's cloud and generative AI technologies.

As part of their collaboration, Qlik and AWS will work on several strategic initiatives to drive benefits in four key areas like, AI App Development, enhanced utilisation of SAP data, streamlined data compliance, and accelerated adoption of AI technology.
