Software engineering services provider Ascendion has launched its GenAI Studio in Chennai. The state-of-the-art centre is an addition to the other five innovation hubs of the company around the world. The Chennai studio is expected to amplify client impact and leverage high-quality local generative artificial intelligence (AI) talent. This studio and engineering workspace will also meet the growing demand for generative AI and advance Ascendion’s leadership in this technology area, the New Jersey-headquartered company said in a statement.

"Enterprise leaders are excited about the future of AI, but they need to see real-world results. Our new AI studio in Chennai is filled with expert talent, hands-on technology, and inspiration, all designed to excite, provoke, and generate applied GenAI solutions that will drive the business forward and positively impact lives all over the world,” said Karthik Krishnamurthy, CEO of Ascendion.

“Our new space, located in a global hub of business and technology innovation, will help us deliver what we call ‘Engineering AI’ as we create the future of work together with clients,” he added.

Ascendion’s generative AI-based services include the AVA+ platform and the Digital Ascender platform for developer productivity. The new centre will help clients to explore such offerings from Ascendion, customise real-time solutions tailored for specific problems, and receive rapid insights.

In recent times, Chennai has grown to be a favoured city for global capability centres. A March report by CBRE South Asia found that the share of global firms in overall office leasing for GCCs has remained above 50% in the last six years in Chennai and the trend is to persist in the future too.

“Chennai’s combination of skilled professionals, robust manufacturing, and affordable office space attracts global companies seeking to establish their GCCs,” the report added. It also attributed to factors such as a steady stream of STEM graduates from a plethora of colleges in the city, along with attractive policies for the companies to build and expand their R&D centres here.
