Hitachi, Google Cloud partner to boost enterprise innovation with Gen AI
Hitachi and Google Cloud have announced a multi-year partnership to enhance enterprise innovation and productivity using generative artificial intelligence (AI). As part of this collaboration, Hitachi will create a new business unit dedicated to solving industry challenges with Google's AI models and cloud technologies. Additionally, Hitachi will integrate Google Cloud’s AI into its own products and services.
This partnership will accelerate the growth of Lumada, Hitachi's core digital business, and improve operational efficiencies within the Hitachi Group. Led by GlobalLogic, a digital services company and Hitachi subsidiary, will establish the Hitachi Google Cloud Business Unit and the Google Cloud Center of Excellence (CoE) to scale Google Cloud technology for enterprise customers.
Furthermore, Hitachi plans to use Google's AI models to help businesses modernise legacy software systems and will adopt Google Cloud Contact Center AI to improve customer service. With Google Cloud Agent Assist, customer service representatives will receive real-time assistance and resolution suggestions, increasing productivity and service quality. These new solutions will be compatible with GlobalLogic's Platforms architecture, designed to meet the needs of intelligent enterprises.
As per the company, the new solutions will support both on-premises and cloud environments, allowing enterprises to modernise operations while maintaining existing IT systems. They will also be compatible with Hitachi Vantara’s Virtual Storage Platform One, enabling users to build AI applications with data stored on Hitachi’s hybrid cloud platform.
To ensure customers have the resources needed to deploy and manage AI projects, Hitachi and Google Cloud will align their sales, marketing, and engineering teams. This collaboration will include the GenAI Professionals that Hitachi trains on Google Cloud technology. Hitachi aims to train more than 50,000 Gen AI Professionals globally as part of this program.
“Through this partnership, Hitachi will leverage Google Cloud's AI capabilities to improve and enhance employee productivity and accelerate innovation. By augmenting the capabilities of our developers and customer success units with Google Cloud GenAI solutions, such as Vertex AI and Gemini models, Hitachi will be able to better serve the needs of its customers in diverse industries and across complex domains such as energy, mobility, manufacturing and digital services,” said Toshiaki Tokunaga, Executive Vice President and Executive Officer at Hitachi.
“To solve complex business challenges with generative AI, enterprises need advanced technology and the technical expertise to successfully deploy it throughout their organisations,” said Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud. “Our partnership with Hitachi will provide customers with the resources needed to optimally build, implement, and manage every stage of their generative AI projects.”
