AET Displays Limited, a manufacturer of LED displays and part of China's Guangda Group, has announced the appointment of Su Piow Ko as the CEO of India market.

Ko, currently the Vice President of AET Global, has been entrusted with an additional charge as India CEO, the company said.

AET Displays specialises in the design, production, and marketing of LED displays, with a focus on fine-pitch displays.

With over three decades of experience in LED technology, Ko brings a wealth of expertise to his new position.

Under his guidance, AET aims to push the boundaries of technological advancement, expand its market presence, optimise after-sales support services, and forge strategic partnerships that drive sustainable growth in India, the company said in a statement.

Officially entering the Indian market on October 26, 2023, AET quickly solidified its foothold, offering over 50 products and boasting over 2,000 installations nationwide. Additionally, AET strategically operates one assembly plant, three offices, three customer experience centres, and five service centres throughout the country, ensuring extensive coverage and support for its clientele.

Ko said, “I am honoured to take on the responsibility of CEO, India, at AET. India presents immense opportunities for growth and innovation in the LED display industry, and I am excited to guide AET in achieving excellence and surpassing customer expectations in this dynamic market.”

My vision extends beyond establishing AET as a leader in the LED sector in India; I am also dedicated to bolstering the nation’s economy through our commitment to local manufacturing, he added.

Ko’s journey in the LED technology sector began over 30 years ago when he quickly ascended through the ranks due to his outstanding leadership skills and technical proficiency. His seven-year tenure at Siemens as a Senior Production Operation Manager provided him with invaluable experience in managing large-scale manufacturing operations and optimising efficiency.

Prashant Srivastava, Head of International Marketing, said that Ko’s demonstrated leadership and comprehensive understanding of market dynamics make him a valuable asset to AET’s strategy in India. His forward-thinking approach will enable us to promptly adapt to market fluctuations and capitalise on emerging trends, ensuring enduring success in India’s competitive LED arena.

“With his years of knowledge and experience, I am confident that AET India will benefit from his ability to cultivate a collaborative and respectful culture, fostering innovation and productivity among the team,” Srivastava said.

In recent months, AET Displays has been bullish on the Indian market. In December, the company announced plans to invest ₹200 crore this year in the Indian market, with Ko stating that the amount will be invested in expanding its assembly, manufacturing, and warehousing capabilities in the country. The LED screen maker has an assembly facility in Chennai and is currently sourcing up to 55% of its components for some products from Indian suppliers, Ko said in a recent interview.

With a client portfolio that includes Reliance, Adani, and BQ Prime, among others, the company sees the “Digital India” policy as a major driver of LED displays in the country.

According to a report by market research firm IndustryArc, the display market size in the country is forecast to reach $18.64 billion by 2027, at a CAGR of 11.7% during 2022-2027. Significant adoption of signage and interactive displays by various industry verticals, including healthcare, education, sports, and entertainment for branding, advertisement, and broadcasting, has positively influenced the Indian display market.
