Adobe to offer Adobe Experience Platform-based application on India data centre

Digital media and editing platform Adobe has announced that Adobe Experience Platform-based applications will be available to its enterprise customers through India data centre later this year. It is expected to improve performance through lower latency and ensure compliance with local data residency requirements. 

Indian enterprises will be able to access Adobe Experience Platform-based applications including Adobe Real-Time Customer Data Platform, Adobe Journey Optimizer, and Adobe Customer Journey Analytics.

“Delivering personalised customer experiences, or Customer Experience Management, is central to the goals of enterprises. With that, we’ve seen increasing demand for Adobe Experience Platform-based applications from customers across banking financial services and insurance, telecom, manufacturing, and retail. We are excited to meet their hyper-growth requirements with the availability of Adobe Experience Platform-based applications, hosted via an India based datacentre,” the company said in a statement.

Last year, enterprise solutions provider SAP announced that it will make several cloud solutions like SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP Business Technology Platform on India-based data centres from mid-2024. The company said that it is taking this step in light of the regulatory requirements for data processing and storage which affects Indian businesses part of SAP clientele.

Notably, this trend is not exclusive to SAP, as other major players like content delivery network player Akamai and workflow management software provider Atlassian are also opting to store and process their Indian data within the country's borders. While the reasons range from India's emergence as the IT hub to lowering the latency, the data protection laws in the country are also being attributed as a pivotal factor.
